on tuesday night, i shimmied on down to DWR on beverly for the LA biz ladies meet up headed by my hero grace bonney of design*sponge. grace created the d*s biz ladies series as a way to provide free marketing, wholesaling, legal, and financial advice for local designers and design-based business owners.
speakers included financial adviser lindsay horstman from smith
barney, fabulous reform school co-owners billie and tootie, multi-talented funiture/textile designer tanya aguiñiga,
and of course, miss grace who gave us the lowdown on PR.
there were about 200 ladies in attendance, consisting of designers, bloggers (hello), business owners, event planners, crafters, and entrepreneurs. i met lots of cool and gals, all of whom were not only smart and talented, but inspired and motivated to make their passions a reality.

the environment was warm and friendly. crumbs bakeshop put out a sinful spread of cupcakes. i lounged on and array of fancy sofas and engaged in discussions ranging from roth IRAs and e-commerce, to dancing with the stars.
thank you, grace, for bringing the d*s series to LA and for rocking out the wonderful PR/marketing advice. and thank you, susie at DWR, for always throwing down the best events.
and, for those of you who couldn't make it, grace made all of her incredibly valuable notes available online for you. how cool is that? it's just one of several reasons of why we love her, people.
