simply put, the work of san francisco artist rex ray is sexy. i'm talking collage, abstract, mid-century, resin sexy.
i first saw rex's artwork a few years ago at jonthan adler's shop in SF. i was whoranging at the back of the store when i ran across two of rex's retro-futuristic, colorful resin panels. now, i've seen high-gloss art before, but rex's art was high-gloss hot. i wrote his name on the back of my hand so i wouldn't forget it (because i'm brilliant like that), and of course i forgot to make the hand-to-paper transfer, thus leading me to constantly wonder, "who was that mysterious man?"
luckily, the fabulous twenty twenty-one gave praise to rex's work recently, thus jogging my memory and making me one happy gal. thanks, twenty twenty-one!

I am loving these! The earth tones and nod to natural shapes would work well with my dream Arts & Crafts home, too!
