decked out: skate study furniture

designers pierre andre senizergues and gil le bon de laPointe use skateboard decks and skate parts to recreate iconic mid-century furniture for the skate study house. i first saw pierre and gil's decked out decks at the dwell on design show, and i gotta say, their goods are quite groovy.
but, what i really want to know is -- how come all of the skateboarders i dated had cable-spool coffee tables, cinder block bookshelves, and milk crate chairs for furniture?
(above: "astro clock" created with 12 skateboard wheels and bearings; "god father lounge chair & ottoman" composed of seven walnut laminated decks with cushions.)
clockwise from top left: skate wall partition; hang up coat rack; stax chair; nova floor lamp; tokyo lounge table.

I saw these at the Dwell show, too. I thought the pieces looked great, especially the skate wall and stax chair.
