PINK LIPS A GO GO

Vintage lipstick assembly line

kittens, i have tried every single pinky, nudey, rosey lipstick on this unicorn planet. from sticks to stains to sheers, i am always on the search for the perfect pinky shade that will take me from palisades client meetings to downtown go-go dancing.

after years of tint testing, i've composed my top ten lippy picks below. these go-to gals can be worn solo or layered in any combo. they all work well together much unlike our congress.

do you have any favorite pinky neutrals? let me know and i'll give 'em a spin!

...IN A DISCO

Jocelyn Anderson Daydream Believer

it's monday, darlings...

some of us are returning to the grind. others are bikini-clad and roller skating down the beach promenade in aruba.

if you're joining me in the glorious grind, let's meditate upon a few get-me-through-the-day slogans, shall we? each phrase is perfect for chanting during your commute, while sitting at your desk, or in a board meeting.

FUN FACT: if you add the words "in a disco" to the end of any of these phrases, your day will improve 150%. guaranteed!

I woke up like this neon sign

example: "i woke up like this in a disco."

You Rule Sorta by Erik Marinovich

example: "you rule sorta in a disco."

happy monday, kittens!

Whorange Oscar love with Brandi Strickland

kittens, it's that time of the year again -- OSCARS!

i confess, i have watched every academy award show since the beginning of time. the red carpet is my drug of choice. i even watch pre-red carpet coverage, because i am insane.

feel free to use my psychic gift for your oscar party ballot. just split your spoils with me 50/50. you can pay me in gold and/or non-conflict diamonds.

Whoranging for Jim Hodges

Jim Hidges chiffon and silk headscarves installation Heres Where We Will Stay 1995 Hammer Museum

over the weekend, i boogied on down to the hammer museum to catch the closing day of jim hodges' "give more than you take." it was gorgeous and moving and magical and textured. much of his work revolves around the fragility of life, transformation, and growing up gay in spokane, WA.

if you get a chance to see hodges' work in person, drop everything and check it out. it's worth every step to the journey!

DRUGSTORE COWBOY - WHORANGE CAST 2015

Racooon lion bunny and mushroom felt holiday oranaments

while packing up my tree yesterday, i realized my holiday ornaments would make the perfect cast for a 2015 remake of "drugstore cowboy."

if you haven't seen gus van sant's 1989 film about a band of drug addicts (lead by matt dillon) who support their habit by robbing pharmacies and hospitals, put in on your netflix queue. sure, it's dark and depressing, but it is really, really good. plus, the hair is amazing and the production design is gorgeously gritty.

i think my version would replace vicodin with swedish candy, though, because i love a good twist and i love a good gummy fish. also, there will be no guns in my version. just lassos. little twine lassos.

the cast would be as follows:

lasso raccoon - matt dillon

fur coat raccoon - kelly lynch

pink pant bunny - heather graham

denim lion - james legros

see the original trailer here for your inspiration pleasure. enjoy!
