kittens, i am giddy to announce that the project i was working on back in december has officially hit the stands. check it out in this month's vogue!
no, that's not me on the cover (although many people have mistaken me for adele...in my dreams); instead, i was working on an interior design feature for model carolyn murphy's los angeles home. and, by "working on," i mean i assisted my boss, interior designer schuyler samperton, who styled the shoot.
i should also mention, schuyler didn't just style the shoot, she designed carolyn's entire home. schuyler and carolyn have worked together on a few homes and their styles are the perfect pairing. the result -- a truly gorgeous mix of rich, bohemian textures, vintage furnishings, unique pieces, and a laid back, yet glamorous vibe.
pure schuyler. pure carolyn. in other words...pretty as a picture from floor-to-celing and head-to-toe.

{above: a glimpse inside of the kitchen, which includes reclaimed terracotta floors, stone sinks, a kilim runner from j. iloulian., a striped laundry basket from mecox, and pottery from nickey kehoe and dos gallos. oh...and that handsome feline fellow is zachary.}

{above: quite possibly my favorite room -- the art studio. it's a converted garage with exposed walls and a concrete floor. all of the furniture and accessories have a unique history ranging from carolyn's own well-worn bridles and riding hat to turn-of-the-century sculpture stands from an art school in paris.}
here is a semi-breakdown...

and finally, this may be the closest i'll ever come to my hero, vogue's creative director grace coddington. so, please allow me to take this moment to humbly say, "oh. my. god."
