my very first concert was KISS. i was in the fifth grade and wore a feathered roach clip in my hair. i caught paul stanley's guitar pick. from that moment on, my love for make up, platform boots, and rock n' roll was born.
today, artist ron english has prompted me to renew my KISS army membership with his glam-tastic solo exhibit "the secret history of kiss" at the shooting gallery in san francisco.
my crush on ron english's work first sparked with his magnificently morphed portrait of obama and abraham lincoln -- "abraham obama." but, now, i'm faced with a feeling of unstoppable teenage whorange. when 17th century baroque meets 20th century glam, i'll do anything to get that backstage pass.
where:
the shooting gallery
839 larkin street
san francisco, ca
when:
tuesday - saturday
12pm - 7pm
november 1st - december 6th

I'll do anything for a backstage pass, too. These are definitely worth a few compromising positions.
