south korean born artist, stella im hultberg, creates craveable watercolors on tea stained paper. the result: simply sublime.
some craveable mid-century finds at the always fab brick house vintage.

ahh, rainbow prisms. i went to college at uc santa cruz where rainbow art was practically a requirement. my 5'x5' marimekko tuuli stretch canvas was definitely out of place with the dark side of the moon posters and grateful dead dancing bears. (although marimekko prints DO serve as excellent stoner art, FYI.)
had brandi strickland's gorgeous giclees been around, however, i would have easily become a prism convert. brandi definitely puts the whorange in rainbows with her fabulous original, mixed media, giclee collage/paintings.
each piece is signed, numbered, and available at miss brandi's esty shoppe.
best news...no patchouli required!

in this month's issue of bust magazine, new zealand's doable duo, bret mckenzie and jermaine clement, gently lay us on the couch (the therapist couch that is) and offer their advice on romance, unrequited love, and how to seduce a scruffy a kiwi.
queries for the conchords hail straight from the hearts of bust's readers who were asked to submit questions for the boys on bust's website. for example...
bust reader: "dear bret and jermaine, how can i meet a man who both likes to kiss girls and dresses up like david bowie on occasion?"
jermaine: "sounds like what you want is to meet me."
bret: "she should just become fictional."
sigh. sound advice never sounded more sound.
whorange is all around us, darlings. embrace it. own it. soon you will throne it.
have a wonderful weekend!

the sadistic search is over, poodles. i finally found my nuptial kicks!
thank you, everyone, for your suggestions, guidance, and emails. and thank you jolie from the fabulous la maisonette for putting red vintage shoes in my head. (and thank you coco for pointing me in the right direction.) these ruby reds aren't vintage, but they still send my heart aflutter. and they were affordable to boot! (89.00 bux -- not bad, right?)
okay, now if i could only find a fabulous and affordable DJ...
artist abby glassenberg conjures fabulous handmade birds and soft sculptures from unique and vintage fabrics while her little daughters nap. considering i can barely make a sandwich while my cats nap, my admiration for abby runs deep.
read all about abby's one-of-a-kind pieces, her process (see how she makes a peacock here), and her adventures as a marvelous mommy on her blog while she naps.
abby's owls, larks, wading birds, hens, and other soft superstars are available at her etsy shoppe.
this little guy is my personal favorite...
