the lovely jennifer at modernica sent me a little ole message announcing their 20th anniversary this month. happy two-zero, modernica!
to kick off the royal celebration, artist peter shire designed the new prince charles chair exclusively for the fab funiture shoppe. based on the company’s case study fiberglass shell chair, the prince charles is loving named after the originator of the design -- charles eames.
the chair’s queen anne-esque legs, which resemble broken violin cut outs, provide a groovy juxtaposition to the sleek, mid-century modern seat. the chair ranges from $359-$469, depending upon the chair selected (arm, shell or wire).
i'll take one of each!

Those legs are definitely unique. I love the name!

I went to Modernica's sale last year after reading about it on your site. Their stuff is the best. Thanks for the post on their anniversary!

Why would anyone want one of each? They're hideous!

I can't believe they would do that to such a wonderful classic design.

Kinda strange, but kinda cool!

Horrible. Modernica has always been so spot on, but this chair is a travesty.

If it keeps up, man will atrophy all his limbs but the push-button finger.
