our favorite DIY, mid-century makeover maven and gal pal, morgan at the brick house, made this truly craveable bookshelf (pictured above) after being inspired by the shelving unit at the ace hotel (pictured below)...
...miss morgan and her man macgyvered their own fabulous unit using plumbing pipes, wooden boards, minwax, drills, math, and whole lot of brilliance. for full instructions on how they did it, click here.
now, not only can you build yourself a fancy bookshelf but, you can come over to my house and build one for me, too!
that is what i call a win-win situation!

My parents had a really similar bookshelf growing up. Love it! Wish they didn't get rid of it :(

are the flange's screwed into the floor too? also, i assume they were drilled to a stud beam in the wall.
