a peek beneath the WHORANGE tree

on xmas morning, i discovered this amazing card (see above) wedged into our aluminum tree. as it turns out, my husband made the card for me as an homage to WHORANGE'S heroes. inside was a lovely message "from our cats" and a yoga membership. proof positive that steve truly holds the key to my heart.

in addition, we were fortunate to have a few splendid gifts swapped in the house of WHORANGE this holiday. allow me to share...

wow, i actually got hitched this year! (which reminds me...i still need to post our wedding pictures, don't i? more pix to come in 2010 -- i promise!)

with the holidays upon us, i wanted to take this moment to thank each and every one of you for your love, support, decor inspirations, artistic endeavors, sagacious comments, foxy emails, keen queries, frolicking slumber parties, habitual bootie calls, mid-day martinis, wiglet coupons, solar-powered panties, and of course...magnificent hair.

dear WHORANGE: eames chair emergency!

this will sound silly, but i am trying my hardest to get a miniature eames management chair to put in a box, for my boyfriend to open on christmas as a way to tell him he is getting the real thing, but in a few weeks. you would not believe the nightmare i am having trying to locate one.

can you direct me to any place in the US, I can have fed ex'd overnight?

question: does it need to be an authentic vitra eames miniature? if not, contact the fine folks at poketo ASAP. i see they have the green eames chair in this collection for $12.00 and may have one available to ship to you overnight! this is the same one that was graciously given to me by laura of if it's hip, it's here back in july.

send poketo an email here and see if they can do it. i will also try to get hold of them personally for you. i understand the importance -- i really do! christmas just isn't christmas without eames. here is the proof...

by the way, your boyfriend is one lucky guy! not only will he look super handsome in the chair, so will his hair.

french illustrator, stéphane massa-bidal (a.k.a. retrofutur), cleverly crafts popular websites and social media obsessions into vintage textbook cover art, circa 1960s. if school was like this, i would have been valedictorian for sure -- perhaps majoring in YouTube.

most shockingly, not only has stéphane charmed my panties off with his tremendous take on twitter & co., but he is actually tempting me to join LinkedIn...

...i have a feeling general ambrose everett burnside may have some swell job opportunities for me.

snow day: martin & muñoz snow globe art

rumor has it -- it's snowing in some parts of this country. considering i live in los angeles, i can only put on my bikini and stare at a snow globe to empathize.
