if you don't know the cinematic blog orgy i love hot dogs, put it on your list of sites-to-do. i love hot dogs features fabulous film stills from eye-catching indies and musical montages, to oscar-winning classics and x-rated gems.
recently, they paid homage to one of my all time favorite flicks -- midnight cowboy.
jon voight plays joe buck, a bright-eyed, country hooker with a heart-of-gold who moves to the big apple with dreams of earning treasure for giving pleasure. along the way, NYC chews him up and spits him out into the crippled hands of conman ratso rizzo (played superbly by dustin hoffman). bonus: fabulous hair and a late night cameo by warhol's ultraviolet.
final fact...midnight cowboy is the first and only x-rated film to win an academy award for best picture! the year was 1969. oh, how far we have not come.
have a wonderful friday, kittens. happy hustlin'...

Tula--this is one of my all time favorites, too! I will never ever forget seeing this on the big screen when there was some anniversary-type, re-issue thingie going on at Milwaukee's Oriental Theatre. I'm a close to the screen sitter, not a back row person. I had trouble containing myself when I saw those boots projected on the big screen. Imagine them HUGE and your mind will be blown, too.
