friend of WHORANGE (and ridiculously talented) michael jon watt just opened the doors to his fabulous new etsy shop -- transit design.
transit design crafts bus, tram, or train scrolls fashioned after vintage destination signs used in buses, subways, and stations. each piece is made-to-order, carefully laid out, and printed with archival ink on high quality canvas. an aging technique is used for a well-traveled look.
and get this...you can create ANY LIST as long as it contains 11-13 items. perhaps you'd like a list of your favorite songs? or your last 13 lovers?
i would like a list of my 13 alter egos. it would look something like this:
TULITA
MITZI
via RODNEY DE LA PAZ
CONTESSA
MISS WHORANGE
PRUDENCE FOSTER
LITTLE EDIE
via TRIXELLA
LUPE VALEZ
BUNNY MAGPIE
LOLA
ZSA ZSA end of line
{create your scroll at transit design. and tell michael that bunny magpie sent you!}

These are super neat, and I must say, as a native of Florissant, Missouri I was quite surprised to see my hometown so prominently featured...well, anywhere!

Yay, Florissant, Missouri! I've never been there, but I'm sure everybody's hair looks fabulous, KL.

That European one looks like a vacation to me. The top one...not so much. ;)

You folks are delightful and I'm pleased to have my work featured. Yeah, Florissant was a place to forget, that's for sure. But if you like Jell-O salad with bits of carrots in it, you must plan a visit!

No offense meant to KL, as I lived there myself! :-)

I have to admit, I was getting a little tired of these transit signs. BUT. Having a completely personalized one is genius and really fun. I'm totally reconsidering it now. Especially because mine would look something like "Tattooine / Endor / Yavin IV / Hoth / Dagobah"...

I don't know if I'll come up with 11-13 places but when I do, I'm ordering one. Too cute!

Be creative with your lists! Ex boyfriends, ex girlfriends (okay, maybe not), favorite wines, favorite songs, favorite restaurants, movie titles, board games, names of authors, Broadway shows ...

I figure it's a classy and subtle way to put my geek out in the open. :-P

Lupe Valez! Glad to see she's back and living at Whorange. She definitely deserves to be immortalized on your transit scroll.

Ok, did I just see these on an episode of The Good Wife last night? In the offices of one of the lawyers? I noticed them in the background and made a note of how cool they were. What a coincidence!
