I desperately need for these to make a comeback... Then I'd never have to make that "chesterfield, davenport or sectional" decision ever again.

But you forgot the one in my house! :)

Citric Sugar -- sectional always wins out over davenport, although davenport is much more fun to say.
Carrie Ann -- isn't the top photo your house?

Seriously - DOES anyone even make these anymore? When did the den lair go out of style? Who doesn't want a lair? And how come no one plays the organ anymore?

I had know idea how much I needed a sunken living room until now. Is there a service for that?

To die for. Or to die in! Both ways are a great way to go out, don't ya think?

I love a sunken living room!

Um, I totally made out with a boy in 7th grade on his sunken living room couch. The layout of that room looks so much like the last picture it isn't even funny! Totally conjured up that lost memory. Now to bury it again... ;)

PASSION PITS!

Thanks for the link luvin'!
Here's a tour of another home with a killer conversation pit. Though I now realize I did a poor job featuring said pit. No matter, the collection alone is worth the click. http://bit.ly/bH8Q86

These are great, but the seating in #4 & #6 looks so uncomforable. The rest were designed for human beings, thank goodness. I've ALWAYS wanted a sunken living room - ever since I saw one in a movie - whose name escapes me right now, but made in the 1950s for sure!!! :D :D :D

Baz Mcm, will link love you anytime!
Plastolux, thanks for throwing your pit into the ring. Sounds smelly, but looks fabulous!
Natalie, I'm sorta jealous. Must admit!
Everyone else -- dig a pit in your living room. I approve!

Until the room in the first picture becomes equipped with a shark tank instead of an atrium, I must possess the sex library. Go bears!
