it's that time of the month again, kittens -- time for WHORANGE'S monthly pad.
this month's pad comes to us from kansas city, missouri. owned by toy accessory designer, debbie glassberg, this airy 2600-square foot pad is filled with turquoise walls and exhibitionist-friendly floor-to-ceiling windows.
and, it is constructed entirely out of five shipping containers. yes, shipping containers!
my first experience with the "shipping-container-as-home" concept was at the dwell on design show three years ago. the 500-square foot container was, well...a big, metal container. i have to admit, i didn't quite see the grand vision, but now that i've witnessed this turquoise palace, the humble container has earned my respect. period.

We recently read the annual number of shipping containers lost at sea is around 10,000.
Think of all the great homes that could be built!
Love this concept!

I think that this is a really fun concept and if I'm not wrong, it's much more affordable to go with shipping containers than traditional building materials right?
