artist beth matthews designed the wes anderson film color palette (above) to illustrate the filmmaker's signature hues across six of his films.
despite the fact she spelled darjeeling incorrectly, it's pretty fantastic.
the royal tenenbaums (production design by david wasco):
rushmore (production design by david wasco):
the life aquatic with steve zissou (production design by mark friedberg.):
fantastic mr. fox (production design by nelson lowry):
the darjeeling limited (production design by mark friedberg):
moonrise kingdom (production design by adam stockhausen):
i always thought I was a tenenbaum, but according to this, i'm more of a fantastic mr. fox!

now i know why The Fantastic Mr. Fox has a familiar vibe to it. i never knew it was by the same filmmaker as The Royal Tenenbaums!
i love all the palettes, very old school and nostalgic.

Darjeeling Limited was my least favorite of Anderson's movies, but it's one of my favorite color palettes!

You should email the artist and let her know of her typo! How unfortunate because otherwise it's an amazing work.

Hmm, this is a cool concept but in my opinion, The Royal Tenenbaum's palette is off. Where is the pink?! In three of the five photos alone, pink is prominent - the title sequence, the wall color (okay, it's salmon) and the phone. RT is my favorite Wes Anderson film and whenever I visualize it in my mind, it is very PINK.

I completely agree! I think the pale color on the end is a pale pink, but the Tenanbaum pink is definitely brighter and bolder! Also, there is a lot of forest/apple green that is missing in the palette. Oh well!

According to these colours, I'm definitely a Darjeeling Limited lady. It's all about the brights!

A combination of two of my favourite things - colour palettes and Wes Anderson films, so I am willing to look past an innocent typo. Love.

OH SWEEET MOTHER OF DESIGN and ALL THINGS EXITING! Wes Anderson pallettes! YES! Love the concept so so much... That being said, I would have depicted the colours better (in my conceited opinion:). It's very played down here.

Helen, you would have knocked it OUT OF THE PARK! You need to be Wes's art director!

So in love with this!
