it's monday, darlings...

some of us are returning to the grind. others are bikini-clad and roller skating down the beach promenade in aruba.

if you're joining me in the glorious grind, let's meditate upon a few get-me-through-the-day slogans, shall we? each phrase is perfect for chanting during your commute, while sitting at your desk, or in a board meeting.

FUN FACT: if you add the words "in a disco" to the end of any of these phrases, your day will improve 150%. guaranteed!

example: "i woke up like this in a disco."

over the weekend, i boogied on down to the hammer museum to catch the closing day of jim hodges' "give more than you take." it was gorgeous and moving and magical and textured. much of his work revolves around the fragility of life, transformation, and growing up gay in spokane, WA.

if you get a chance to see hodges' work in person, drop everything and check it out. it's worth every step to the journey!

it is amazing what paper, thread, wood, and a whole lot of patience and creativity can do.

this week , steve and i boogied on down to jacob hashimoto's breathtaking exhibition "gas giant" at the MoCA at the pacific design center. comprised of 30,000+ kite-like, paper sculptures, hashimoto's  installation is so sweeping and magnificent, you may curl up on the floor and cry, kittens.

just warning you.

behold the 50-foot strands of papery, gravity-defying grandeur...

"gas giant" runs until june 8th, so shimmy on down now!

artist janine rewell and shoe designer minna parikka collaborated on this head-to-toe bit of body painting fabulousness for minna's 2014 scandinavian spring collection of colorful kicks. body painting was applied by the skilled hands of saara sarvas & riina laine.

while cruising down beverly boulevard yesterday, i nearly crashed my car when i saw this glorious MAD MEN SEASON 7 MURAL tumbling across the wall of the sofitel hotel.

the artist behind the technicolor, art nouveau masterpiece is iconic '60s artist milton glaser (age 84!). mad men's creator, matthew weiner, sought out glaser as his dream key art illustrator for the show's final season, and luckily for all of us, glaser agreed.

similar to enlisting the art of brian sanders for season 6, weiner truly celebrates and honors the master artists of the mid-century. the result is nostalgic, sophisticated, and exuberantly authentic. thank you, matthew!

AMC released mad men's season 7 character photos, and darlings, it is head-to-toe perfection.

from peggy's enamel daisy pin to gentlemen sporting various shades of mustard, i'm happily drunk in a sea of fringe and polyester. bring on 1969 and bring it on forever!
